0004 85/09/29 22:02:52 * CM4LIB 3.02 TRANSITION COMPLETE * ---- -------- -------- ------------------------------------------------- Despite a strong call for resignation over the Extractgate Scandal, the CM4NEWS Publisher will not follow the tragic fate of Robert Coates, John Fraser and Marcel Masse! The Publisher, an honest and honourable BNR employee, is staying on to maintain the integrity of CM4NEWS, and he is so glad that the placement code TE (Terminate Employment) has been removed in this year's HRR reform. Instead of becoming a scapegoat, the Publisher wants Mr. Justice Eric Livermore to head a royal commission to investigate the affair over tainted EXTRACT, which was declared unfit for CMOS4 application in RFA#291, filed March 24, 1985. The Publisher wishes to make a major announcement of the 3.02 transition of the CM4LIB disk. The legendary Daily Library Disk Build has resumed for overnight bug fixes and feature releases: - 05H00 --- LIBSTAT 104 (accessed through LDISK 3.02) - 06H00 --- ICDESIGN 59A (accessed through LDISK 3.03) Here is a list of changes since the rock-solid CMOS4 Cell Library Disk (frozen August 9, 1985) was dissolved September 29 (Sunday, that is): - All standard cells have a half-grid offset origin at (x,y)=(1/2,1/2). - All standard cells have both composit and schematic levels. - All standard cells have metal1 internal I/O points in CM4 CELLIO. - TECHDAT file is compatible with 3.02 SDS tools (except for VERPLACE), and even FUNDES should work! - CM4 ICDATA (16-bit) is now a direct translation of CM4 CAL (16-bit). - Layer definition changes: Level 14: Via location for humans Level 17: Boundary for humans (segment layer) Level 28: Unused (formerly Large Contact Identification) - Automatically-created HLPCM4 INDEX, CM4 ISSUES and CM4 MSG files. - "HLPCOM INFO" for a one-line cell description demanded by Steve Sunter. - So-called "Comma Problem" and misplaced LD values in some FUNSIM MACROs will be corrected shortly. - No cell has been GXed yet.....
