1994-09-28|Futurist versus Futurologist versus Forecaster

To the World Future Society

• Does the World Future Society make a clear distinction between a futurist, a futurologist and a forecaster? I saw Marvin Cetron on TV strongly claiming that he is not a futurist but a forecaster. Although I Cocoon and Faithfully eat Popcorn, I tend to think that the astrologist friend of Nancy Reagan's can make predictions and forecasts pretty well :-) As for me, I would rather be making the future by inventions and innovations.

• Just passing someone else's view of various kinds of "futurist".
