I started listening to American Top 40 with Casey Kasem back in 1977 on the American Forces Far East Network short-wave radio. I listened to the program every Saturday afternoon until 1981 when I moved to Canada. Although I liked the lifestyle in Canada, I lost touch with American Top 40 for more than 10 years.
2 years ago, I re-discovered Casey's Top 40 on the new CKKL Kool FM in Ottawa (Ontario), and started listening to it ever since. Unlike my teenage years, I occasionally miss it due to family responsibilities with 3 young and active kids, who like to sing the tune: "Casey's Top 40".
Casey, would you please play You Light Up My Life by Debbie Boone? I vividly remember Casey's announcement in 1979 that the song was the Number 1 hit of the 1970's. I would like to dedicate this song to you, Casey, to appreciate your lighting up my life over the years.
