I am looking for the exchange rate for USD. I need the numbers to report income tax and GST for my small business. Could you tell me if I will be using the buy rate, sell rate, spot rate or average rate?
I looked around in the Bank of Canada Web site, but found only daily rate. Don't you publish monthly and yearly rate on your Web site?
Thank you very much for your attention.
To whom it may concern
Attached is the response I got back in 1996-03 from the Public Information Department regarding my request for a very simple monthly and yearly averages of U.S. exchange rates which have long been available on the telephone and FAX.
Instead of those labour-intensive technologies, could a text file be added to your excellent World-Wide Web site? Also, I don't understand why most of the files are in PDF format instead of simple HTML format. I don't have enough memory in my computer to use Adobe Acrobat :-(. FYI, as an Internet consultant, I would be willing to give you more advice.
Thank you very much for your attention.
To whom it may concern
Way back in 1996-03, I requested a simple text file (HTML instead of PDF format) to be published on the Bank of Canada web site for the Monthly Exchange Rate for USD, which is available on the telephone, FAX and PDF. I need only this piece of information from Bank of Canada because of the obligation to report financial information to Revenue Canada.
Is it too much to ask, given the fact that the Daily Noon Exchange Rate has been published in text file (HTML instead of PDF format) for years on the Bank of Canada web site?
