To mark the start of the new millennium, I suggest that a wind turbine power generator to be re-installed at the "Canada and the World/Le Canada sans frontières" site at Rideau Falls Parks.
I fondly remember a mighty Darrieus machine on the roof of the building about 10 years ago. Given the renewed interest in alternative energy because of the concern regarding global warming by fossil fuels, I would like to see the installation of a super water-windmill or a solar heliostat or even the "Ice-Storm Buster Potential Energy Storage System" at the site. As a professional engineer, I might even enjoy designing such a demonstration machine as an R & D project.
I hope my suggestion will be considered for a permanent gift to the community, and inspire the future generations towards the development of green and clean energy.
