Potential Discovery or Invention
There is a phenomenon called "tunnelling" in solid-state physics at the P/N junction, which is used by the tunnel diode. However, there are similar odd phenomena in other areas of science.
Atomic/Nuclear Tunnelling (nuclear reaction in sonoluminescence)
Biological Tunnelling (a few bananas last longer, a few humans live longer)
Electrochemical Tunnelling (H3O+, H5O2+, etc.)
Fluidodynamic Tunnelling (a small number of mercury drops being left over from mergers)
Magnetic Tunnelling (like poles of real magnets stick to each other when forced)
Mechanical Tunnelling (generation of H2 by shaking H2O at room temperature)
Quantum Tunnelling (tunnel diode)
Thermodynamic Tunnelling (sublimation)
...
Maybe there is a supreme theory to link these phenomena together as "The General Theory of Tunnelling". Even some social phenomenon such as a case of misfits and poor children making it big can be included as "Social Tunnelling".
