Since I encouraged Canadian Council of Professional Engineers (CCPE), along with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) and other Engineering Organisations to take a legal action against Microsoft for their illegal use of Engineer, I completely agree with the statement "CCPE is extremely disappointed with Microsoft's announcement", as reported in the article entitled "Microsoft reverses position on using engineering title" in PEO Engineering Dimensions (2002-09/10).
On the previous page is a full-page advertisement of Ontario Society of Professional Engineers (OSPE) entitled "Engineer Some Great Deals" with a colour photograph of a portable computer showing the engineersfirst website <http://www.engineersfirst.ca/>. The web browser is Microsoft Internet Explorer, running on Apple Macintosh OS X operating system which is distinguished by its Aqua human-computer interface. However, the portable computer is an IBM ThinkPad instead of an Apple Macintosh! If OSPE can engineer some great deals to overcome such a technical impossibility, I will join them in no time!!
Most likely, the photograph was digitally altered by the media graphics company. The practice to manipulate photographic images is completely legal, but the company's ethics and/or competence may be questionable...
