I am a long-time user of Canada Post Super-Mailbox. Presently, I receive community newspapers (Le Régional, Bonjour Dimanche, Weekend Outaouais) at the door. However, they often fail to arrive, which is understandable given the tough distribution job.
I like to receive community newspapers, while other people may not want any. Inhabitants of apartment buildings and condos already have an option of receiving or rejecting community newspapers at the hall of the building where community newspapers are delivered.
For residents who are served by Canada Post Super-Mailbox, I would like to propose a device comprising a couple of simple hooks with a rain/snow shelter. The device would be retrofitted to the original Super-Mailbox as an attachment so that community newspapers in plastic Publi-Sac would be hung on the hook.
Also, recycling bin would be placed underneath each Super-Mailbox. The City would instruct its truck drivers to empty the recycling bin under each Super-Mailbox. This would create a win-win-win-win situation for Canada Post, City, residents, and the distributor of community newspapers.
Please note that I have a patentable idea for such a device. If Canada Post decides to develop such a device, I would be willing to actively participate in the design, prototype construction, installation, testing, etc. as you see fit.
