When I logged into the Corporations Canada website, I was surprised to see that my company's mailing address was still showing "Hull, QC" in their database.
The name of the city was changed from "Hull" to "Gatineau" more than 3 years ago (2002-01-01) due to municipal amalgamation. Canada Post sent me an ultimatum more than 2 years ago stating that any mail with an obsolete name of the city may not be properly delivered.
When I informed Corporations Canada stating explicitly that the name change was due to municipal amalgamation, I received the following reply.
Dear sir,
For the change of address, you can complete the attached Form 3 and sent
it back.
Thank you.
Well, the Government of Canada has yet to learn how to make its bureaucracy citizen-centric.
