I just wanted to say how impressed I was to hear your lecture "Global Swarming: How Invasive Species are Changing the World" on Canal Savoir's Mini-Enviro programme. Your analysis on many examples is greatly appreciated, especially the socio-economic impacts caused by invasions.
Although there have been many disasters and catastrophes that you pointed out, there must be positive examples of invasions and positive unintended consequences. Accordingly, the global estimate should have benefits as well as costs.
By the way, I am always bothered by the cute Polar Bears as being endangered because of the climate change. They can migrate south, re-connect with Grizzly Bears and evolve into hybrid bears. They may survive and thrive OK...
