2013-12-13|Vidéotron's UNLIMITED ULTIMATE-SPEED INTERNET

To whom it may concern

I have been a loyal customer of Vidéotron for more than 25 years, since the time of Télécâble Laurentien.
Several years ago, when Vidéotron first introduced the Internet service back in 2004 or so, I opted for EXTREME HIGH-SPEED INTERNET. This service had no limit for downloads.
A few years later in 2010 or so, Vidéotron discontinued this service, and unilaterally switched my service from EXTREME HIGH-SPEED INTERNET to ULTIMATE HIGH-SPEED INTERNET with monthly limit for downloads.
Today, I found on Vidéotron's website that there is a new service called UNLIMITED ULTIMATE-SPEED INTERNET starting at $49.95 CAD/month for 6 months, regular price after 6 months: $60.95 CAD/month. Although I would have liked to have been notified to invite me back as a former customer of EXTREME HIGH-SPEED INTERNET, I nevertheless welcomed the return of "Unlimited downloads, every month".

So, I immediately contacted Vidéotron by chat and by telephone. To my great disappointment, I was informed that my rate would be $80.95 CAD/month instead of $60.95 CAD/month because I do not subscribe to Vidéotron's TV service! As a matter of fact, I subscribed to Vidéotron cable for 25 years from 1988 to 2013, but discontinued the illico.tv service a few weeks ago because my PVR broke.

Certain conditions apply.

The $10 monthly rate applies to Internet customers who are subscribed to at least one other service including Vidéotron's TV service. The $30 monthly rate applies to Internet customers who are subscribed to this service only, or who are already subscribed to one of the following Vidéotron services: residential telephone, or mobile telephone.

Therefore, I would like to request that "including Vidéotron's TV service" be removed from the condition above so that I can subscribe to the UNLIMITED ULTIMATE-SPEED INTERNET at $60.95 CAD/month. Please note that I am subscribed not to one but to two of the Vidéotron services, i.e., both residential telephone and mobile telephone.
