2013-12-29|Parliament of Canada's Excessive Security
To whom it may concern
My family recently took a Centre Block Guided Tour of the Parliament of Canada with a relative from Russia. At the security screening area, the security screening officer found a pair of scissors in my waist pack.
Although I explained to him that I have never had a problem with my scissors at any airports in the world, he nevertheless confiscated my scissors. Here is what the Civil Aviation Safety Authority says.
Prohibited items - exceptions
A pair of blunt ended or round ended scissors with blades less than 6 cm long.
Therefore, please instruct the security screening officers that blunt ended or round ended scissors pose no security threat at the Parliament of Canada. It is common sense!
