I read your Advice column every day in the Ottawa Citizen newspaper. In your reply to Grateful for Help on 2015-01-07, you stated the following.
Ask your mom to help you make a doctor or clinic appointment for a health check.
Grateful for Help did not indicate if she lives with a mom or with a dad or with both or with grandparents. I could not believe my eyes when I saw "mom" because her "dad" could have helped her make a doctor or clinic appointment for a health check just as well.
