SENATE OF CANADA APPLICATION FORM
Residency: If you answered "no" to the previous question, please explain how you fit within the exception to the two-year requirement for residency. (Maximum 150 words)
I have lived in Canada's Capital Region (Ottawa-Gatineau) since 1983, on both sides of the Ottawa River. At present, I live in Gatineau, QC, mere 3 km from Ottawa, ON. Since my workplaces were in Ontario (Hamilton, Ottawa) for many years, all of my bank accounts are in Ontario, and I have subscribed to Ontario-based Ottawa Citizen continuously without any break at all whatsoever for more than 33 years, I should be considered as being "temporarily absent from the province or territory of vacancy for reasons of employment or education but can provide satisfactory proof he or she intends to return to his or her permanent residence in the province or territory of vacancy". If I am selected, then I will move my permanent residence to the province of Ontario as required.
Real Property and Net Worth Requirements: Please briefly describe how you satisfy, or will satisfy at the time of appointment, the constitutional requirements for real property and net worth. (Maximum 150 words)
Before the time of appointment as a Senator, I will purchase real property of a net value of $4 000 CAD or more in the province of Ontario for which I am seeking appointment in order to comply with paragraph 23(3) of Constitution Acts, 1867 to 1982: "He shall be legally or equitably seised as of Freehold for his own Use and Benefit of Lands or Tenements held in Free and Common Socage, or seised or possessed for his own Use and Benefit of Lands or Tenements held in Franc-alleu or in Roture, within the Province for which he is appointed, of the Value of Four thousand Dollars, over and above all Rents, Dues, Debts, Charges, Mortgages, and Incumbrances due or payable out of or charged on or affecting the same."
Personal Statement: Please provide a personal statement to describe how you meet each of the qualifications and criteria listed above, using specific examples to highlight your skills and experience. This personal statement must be included in the text field below. (Maximum 1,000 words)
I have made numerous submissions to the government over the years to advocate social and economic justice, demonstrating a solid knowledge of the legislative process and Canada's Constitution, including the role of the Senate as an independent and complementary body of sober second thought, regional representation, minority representation and gender equality. Here are some specific examples, the text of which are accessible on my website, and the authenticity of which can be verified by contacting the relevant authorities.

Moreover, I have written many proposals and open letters to various levels of government and to other organisations, demonstrating a high level of experience, developed over many years, towards the public service at the federal and provincial/territorial level, which leads to an ability to make an effective and significant contribution to the work of the Senate, not only in my chosen profession of Engineering and my area of expertise of STEM, but the wide range of other issues that come before the Senate. Here are some specific examples, the text of which are accessible on my website, and the authenticity of which can be verified by contacting the relevant authorities.

I value substance over appearance, and I have not lost a child's innocence, curiosity and dreams. My tendency to expose lies and deception in search of truth demonstrates that I have genuine commitment to Just Society, ethics, and integrity, based on evidence-based science, logic and critical thinking, i.e., Reason over Passion. I have always advocated Intellectual Property (IP), Research and Development (R & D) as well as Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) by innovative creativity, imagination, ingenuity and originality. I am encouraged that some of the outlandish proposals that I was making 20 years ago are gradually being implemented at last.
As an Independent Inventor in my chosen field of expertise of Engineering, I drafted, filed and prosecuted more than 66 Canadian and U.S. patent applications in many fields, e.g., electronics, magnetics, optics, dynamics, software, hardware, energy, safety, environment, medical, consumer products, sporting goods, fashion, food, etc. with such titles as "Topless Microwave Cooking Device", "Unisex Magnetic Coaxial Connector Device", "Magnetically Erected Wind-Effect Display Device", "Erectable Hexa-Conical Beverage Container", "3-Way Hockey Rink", "Drip-free Interconnect with Unisex Magnetic Connector", "Coreless Frozen Pizza" and "Bisexual Magnetic Garment Closure System", demonstrating a lengthy and recognized record of service to Canada's Engineering community. Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO)'s publication "YOU FIND ENGINEERING IN THE MOST AMAZING PLACES" put my name among the likes of Leonid Brezhnev, Jimmy Carter, Leonardo da Vinci, Thomas Edison, Lee Iacocca, Boris Yeltsin, etc.
The Tao said 2 400 years ago: "Too many rules and regulations and the people chafe and fret." I firmly believe that my quest for absolute simplicity and ultimate consistency towards the progress of human civilisation will benefit the future of Canada. I would like to introduce legislation to that effect, as anybody with sober thought would agree that excessive rules and regulations hurt Canadians.
I sincerely hope that Canada will not miss the opportunity to capture my enthusiastic desire to serve Canada's interest as its Senator, and that Canada will take advantage of my offer of total dedication to Canada.
Non-Partisanship: Please describe how you would bring a perspective and contribution to the Senate that would be independent and non-partisan. (Maximum 500 words)
I am a proud non-hyphenated Canadian citizen, and do not belong to any ethnic groups or cultural communities or tribes, i.e., an eclectic citoyen du monde. I have always advocated individual rights over collective rights, as my submissions and open letters to various levels of government and to other organisations over the years attest. In addition, I do not belong to any political party.
I am not a well-rounded person but somebody with exceptional strengths in certain aspects (logic, STEM) and significant weaknesses in other aspects (emotional, social). Also, I am a slow learner, but my understanding becomes extremely high once I master the subject. I firmly believe that Canada will benefit from such an unconventional person who can provide a unique perspective and make invaluable contribution to Canada's socio-economic development with an emphasis on science and technology.
If I am appointed as a Senator, then I will make my voting decisions based solely on analysis of bills by evidence-based science, logic and critical thinking rather than by emotion. I would be interested in joining the following standing committees, and in promoting Intellectual Property (IP), Research and Development (R & D) for Canada's prosperity, and Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) for Canada's future generations.
Social Affairs, Science and Technology committee
Energy, the Environment and Natural Resources committee
Furthermore, I would explore the use of Apple Pay and Apple Wallet apps for automatic reporting of expenses in real-time in order to prevent any future scandals in a correct-by-construction way, as well as the adoption of electronic voting by the Senators.
I challenge the Advisory Board for Senate Appointments to judge my integrity and merit thorough background security checks and interview process in English ou en français rather than relying on inherently non-meritorious partisan references of which I have none.
Therefore, I shall bring a truly independent and non-partisan perspective and contribution to the Senate of Canada.
