My Dodge SX 2.0 suddenly died on Montréal's Autoroute Metropolitan (A-40), so I immediately clicked the CAA app on my iPhone. "Submit a Roadside Request" leads to a 6-step process, but I got stuck at Step 5 of 6 because "Scan Your VIN Barcode" failed to recognize my VIN Barcode inside the driver-side door. Please make it possible to save my Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) so that I will not have to scan it in future in a stressful situation.
Also, it is confusing if only 1 of "Select a Saved Vehicle", "Provide Vehicle Description" and "Scan Your VIN Barcode" is required, or if all 3 of them are required. Please make it clear.
Thank you very much for your attention.
To whom it may concern
Subsequent to my car trouble on Montréal's Autoroute Metropolitan (A-40), I got into a situation in which I could not log into the CAA app on my iPhone. My membership number starts with 620 290, but login page showed "Membership number: 620 285" which could not be changed. The response I got from CAA was: "The postal code is what drives the Club Code (285)." Although I live in Québec now, I lived in Ontario when I joined CAA in the 1980's.
Therefore, please make it possible to log into the CAA app from any Canadian postal code, especially in an emergency situation!
Thank you very much for your attention.

In another emergency, I clicked CAA app's "Request for roadside assistance" on my iPhone in Aylmer, Québec. I repeatedly received the following error message, so I had no choice but to call the 1-800 number. The CAA agent explained to me that since I am a member of CAA North & East Ontario, the CAA app does not function if I seek roadside assistance in Québec.
Therefore, please make it possible to use CAA app's "Request for roadside assistance" everywhere Canada!
