2017-01-11|Minister of Equal Opportunity, Minister of Canadian Multiculturalism
The Prime Minister of Canada
Frankly, I am shocked to see "Minister of Status of Women" in the list of Prime Minister Trudeau's Updated Federal Cabinet. Because it is 2017 and the gender balance that was achieved in 2015 has been preserved, the discriminatory name "Minister of Status of Women" should be changed to "Minister of Equal Opportunity" with a mandate to be the official guardian of Section 15 of Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms - Constitution Act, 1982.
In 2009, 34 % of women aged 25 to 34 had at least a bachelor's degree compared to 26 % of men. Since 2010, women have outnumbered men at most medical schools in Canada. The minister would address such issues as the core reason behind under-representation of women in engineering, the lack of men in nursing, the fact that much more women than men are leaving the workforce after childbirth, as well as men suffering from unilateral separation by women who falsely claim non-existent abuse but are still accepted by women's shelter and receive support payments, etc.
Also, "Minister of Canadian Heritage", which reminds me of "Heritage Front", should be renamed back to "Minister of Canadian Multiculturalism".
