To whom it may concern
On The Personal Insurance Company's website, I noticed "Alert is a new prevention program offered to our home insurance policyholders. It's available through The Personal mobile app and gives you one free water and freeze detector. Peace of mind at your fingertips!". So I requested one, and received the Roost Smart Water Leak and Freeze Detector in snail mail today.
The unit says "SYNC THE DETECTOR WITH YOUR SMARTPHONE NOW" which transmits a loud sound from iPhone's speaker via acoustic coupler modem (1960's technology). To my dismay, the installation process failed repeatedly with "Try Again" every time. I finally realized that the password was case-sensitive, so I went back one step further to correct the cached password, and the installation was successful at last.
Please consider making the password visible instead of showing "••••••••", and also adding an appropriate feedback message about the reason, something like "Check the password (case-sensitive)!".
