Here are ice drops on the branches of a deciduous tree and at the tips of leaves of an evergreen tree. The drops form due not to freezing rain but to dihydrogen monoxide (H2O) from rain or melting snow drip-freezing to crystals at air temperatures lower than the melting point of H2O.
