The public library uses Code 39 (Alpha39, Code 3 of 9, Code 3/9, Type 39, USS Code 39, USD-3).
I created a barcode by on-line barcode generator, based on the number on my Carte Accès Gatineau: "00253641". However, this barcode was not recognised by the local library's barcode scanner when I presented it on my iPhone's display screen.
So, I used on-line barcode reader to decipher the barcode on my Carte Accès Gatineau, which resulted in "002536410" with extra digit "0" at the end. I re-created the barcode based on this number, and the local library's barcode scanner was able to recognise my Carte Accès Gatineau.
