2021-06-05|Rare-Earth Magnets from Lee Valley Tools

In April 2021, I purchased a lot of rare-earth magnets including "99K3704: 3/4" x 1/8" (3/8") Ring Magnet". I would like to inform you that out of 25 that I received, 8 ring-shaped rare-earth magnets have already broken in pieces even with careful handling as specified in Lee Valley's instructions. Curiously, none of the disc-shaped rare-earth magnets has broken.
Over the years, I have purchased hundreds of rare-earth magnets from Lee Valley Tools, but it is the first time that I am experiencing such a fragile batch. Therefore, I believe that there is a serious quality-control issue at the manufacturing factory. I am attaching a photo of broken rare-earth magnets. If the shipping cost is covered, then I would be happy to send you the broken pieces for your investigation with chemical/mechanical analyses.
