While rock-climbing with my engineer/mathematician/computer scientist son François in Gatineau, QC, Canada, I found a tiny speck of gold-coloured mineral in granite rock.
Upon magnification, my geological engineer/exploration geologist daughter Évelyne confirmed that it is iron pyrite, also known as fool's gold, i.e., iron disulfide (FeS2).
