| Twelve astronauts walked on the Moon's surface during the Apollo era. In the Apollo 7 mission, the first one to land on the Moon, the astronauts only stayed on the surface for 2.5 hours. Surface time kept lengthening in subsequent missions, and during the last surface mission, Apollo 11, the crew clocked 22 EVA (Extravehicular Activity) hours. |
