I wanted to super-accelerate germination/sprouting of Ginkgo biloba seeds by removing hard shell, then skipping the steps of cold stratification followed by warm stratification.
I put 3 stripped Ginkgo biloba seeds mixed with potting soil and Miracle-Gro Potting Mix in each plastic container.
The result from early May to late October shows sprouting and growing of many species of weeds but no sign of Ginkgo biloba at all, i.e., complete failure!

After warm stratification and even before cold stratification, some of the Ginkgo biloba seeds in one batch are sprouting, while none of the Ginkgo biloba seeds in another batch is sprouting due to infection by fungi/molds.
