2024-07-21|Sunatori's Skipping Ad Breaks in Tubi app

Potential Discovery or Invention

• Tubi's website says the following.

  Tubi Help Center
  Our ad breaks are short (one to two minutes long, on average) and happen approximately every 15 minutes or so. At around 4 to 8 minutes of ads every hour, we have far fewer ads than cable!

• iPhone's Tubi app (iOS) displays programmes in landscape orientation. As soon as notification "Ad break coming up in - X" appears, swipe up from the bottom edge of iPhone's screen before an ad starts.

  

• As soon as iPhone is in portrait orientation, immediately tap the full-screen icon at the top-right corner of Tubi's window. If you are lucky, the particular ad is entirely skipped as Tubi reverts back to landscape orientation.

  

• It is unknown if this technique works to skip ads in other streaming service.
