2025-10-23|Science X's Email Newsletter Format

To whom it may concern

• I have subscribed to Science X for several years, and I recently became a pi-member of Science X by upgrading to a premium account. However, the recent change of Science X's Email Newsletter format has caused some concern in readability as I often change my iPhone (iOS)'s text size.

• Here are screenshots of Email Newsletter BEFORE and AFTER the format change. BEFORE the format change, I was able to read the text without changing the text size setting. AFTER the format change, changing the text size setting results in no change at all in the actual text size.

• Please note that the non-changing behaviour of text size is caused by the following hard-coding in Email Newsletter's HTML code.
  • font-size: ??px (where ?? = 14, 16, 18, etc.)

• Since my experiment of removing all occurrences of "font-size" restores the previous behaviour without causing any negative consequence, I propose that all occurrences of "font-size" be removed.

• I hereby confirm that once Settings (iOS) is changed, Science X's Email Newsletter has become readable again in fully responsive format due to the change from "font-size: ?.?em" to "font-size: ??px"! Bravo!!
