I used 2 stacked disc-shaped rare-earth magnets to attach the USB-A end of the obsolete Lightning cable to Euroshield roof's snow guard which is made of ferromagnetic steel. I then attached a golf ball to the Lightning end of the cable to keep the cable straight.
Artificial icicle is slowly building up to become fatter and fatter as ambient temperature hovers around the freezing point of dihydrogen monoxide (H2O) at around 273 K.
Here are various stages of icicle development.
Here is icicle with dripping liquid H2O, leading to branching.
On the way to fully-grown icicle, until...
At ambient temperature > 273 K, air gap with air bubbles formed.
The icicle split from the USB cable, then started to re-grow, resulting in V-shaped figure with stark contrast between smooth and rough texture.
The split icicle is now X-shaped overall.
Potential Discovery or Invention
I am longing for ice storms with freezing rain so that induced icicle would grow to become majestic ice column like this masterpiece artwork by prominent Canadian artist Véronique Sunatori, MFA, BFA.
Here is crazy icicle forming on the side of my professional artist daughter Véronique's house.
