2026-08-23|Sunatori's Double Rainbow

Here is a double rainbow captured in Gatineau, QC, Canada. A double rainbow happens when sunlight is reflected twice inside raindrops.
- Primary rainbow: brighter, with RED on the outside and VIOLET on the inside.
- Secondary rainbow: fainter and above the primary rainbow, with the colours reversed - VIOLET on the outside and RED on the inside.
For a double rainbow, the colour order is reversed between the 2 arcs.
- Primary rainbow (lower/brighter arc)
  - RED -> ORANGE -> YELLOW -> GREEN -> BLUE -> VIOLET
  - RED is on the outside/top of this arc.
  - VIOLET is on the inside/bottom.
- Dark region
  - The area between the 2 rainbows is noticeably darker (Alexander's band).
- Secondary rainbow (upper/fainter arc)
  - VIOLET -> BLUE -> GREEN -> YELLOW -> ORANGE -> RED
  - The colours are reversed.
  - VIOLET is on the inside/bottom.
  - RED is on the outside/top.
