2004-12-14|U.S. Patent Granted for Auto-Retractable Pen

- HyperInfo Canada Inc. (PSX:HIC) (a local business) announced that U.S. Patent 6 830 402 has been granted for "Auto-Retractable Pen Mechanism with a Cushion Effect". The entire patent process at the USPTO (United States Patent and Trademark Office) from the Filing Date to the Issue Date took only 242 days (35 weeks), compared to an average of 27 months according to the USPTO. A series of related Canadian Patents are also pending for the invention.
- The company is commercialising the new invention as "Sunatori.com Pen: A 3-in-1 Auto-Retractable Ballpoint Pen with an Ergonomic Cushion that Leonardo da Vinci would have loved to wear!".
